The Catholic Church in Sweden
My Catholic History
I am now a member of the Roman Catholic Church and my parish is St. Michael's Catholic parish in Växjö
After previously being baptized and confirmed in the Church of Sweden, converted to the Roman Catholic Church in May 2001 in Sankt Josef chapel in Älmhult, belonging to St. Michael's parish in Växjö, which includes the central and eastern part of Kronoberg County.
At that time, I already had a collaboration with St. Mikael's parish and made their website 1999 — 2019, When the then vicar f. Daniel moved to Our Savior's church in 2002, I also had the opportunity to make their website, 2002—2009.
I don't have time to make these pages nowadays, because of my own Catholic website,KatolikNU.se and Catholic NOW which is the English version of the main page. These pages are a combination of their own material and links. These pages are updated daily but still have an old interface that is not always suitable for reading on mobile devices.
Now it's not only websites I make that have to do with the Catholic Church, I'm one of the sacristans in our local chapel, St. Joseph's Chapel.
As the sacristy, I/we are responsible for the sacristy and its furnishings in a church or religious building. This includes sacred vessels, clothing (chasubles, etc.), and other items used in worship services.
Preparation of church services:
The sacristan prepares the church and all the necessary items for worship services, including candles, books, clothing, and vessels.
Care of the sacristy and its fixtures:
This includes keeping the sacristy and its contents clean and in good condition, as well as ensuring that sacred vessels and clothing are roperly stored.
Maintenance of the Church building:
In some cases, the sacristan may also be responsible for carrying out minor maintenance work on the church building.
Preparedness and supervision:
The sacristan prepares the altar, makes sure everything is in order before and after services, and makes sure that silence and order reign in the church.
